Responsibilities

As the Production Supervisor for the Circuit Board Manufacturing Department, you will be able to demonstrate your strong organizational and decision-making skills by being accountable for safety, staffing, budgets, cost control, delivery, quality, ISO9001 and continuous improvement. Responsibilities:

Production / Budgetary:

  • Develop and execute production plan by scheduling/assigning associates across 3 shifts. Establish priorities and track progress.
  • Revise schedules as needed and resolve problems in meeting the plan.
  • Meet with Supply Chain staff daily to discuss issues such as material shortages and customer demand. Make adjustments appropriately.
  • Prepare annual department budget and monitor results on a monthly basis.
  • Manage job-closeout variances.
  • Work with all plant support groups i.e. Safety, Industrial, Manufacturing, Test & Quality Engineering groups as required.
  • Drive execution of Safety 24/7, Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction initiatives.
  • Lead and promote use of, and ensure compliance to the MSA Operating System.
  • Manage equipment problems in department and make sure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance delivery, cost and quality for the Printed Circuit Board department.

Employee Relations / Communication:

  • Interact daily with associates on multiple shifts / address associate issues and concerns.
  • Provide coaching to aid in associate development.
  • Recommend and make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, terminations, transfers, and promotions; seeking managerial guidance as appropriate.
  • Enforce MSA policies and procedures ensuring accountability for compliance.
  • Lead KPI huddles.

Other:

  • Participate, coordinate and support R&D engineering activities and new product launches.
  • Approve time for full-time and temporary associates and maintain attendance and absence records.
  • Manage department roster, cross-training matrix and evacuation plan.
  • Write safety documentation including JSA/SOP records, near hit and incident reports.
  • Verify and review ECO documentation.
  • Approve requisitions and tooling requirements.
  • Review, sign-off, and reconcile purchasing card transactions.
  • Participate in and respond to audit, CQN, and notification findings with solid root cause and occurrence prevention solutions.

  • Proven ability to make recommendations on course of action for approval and follow through on course of action.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional team/work group or those outside of formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.


Qualifications

Education and experience required:

This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:

Level one:

  • Associate's Degree in related field or educational academic equivalent
  • One year supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Level two:

  • Associate's Degree in related field or educational academic equivalent
  • Two years supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Level three:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or educational academic equivalent
  • Three years supervisory or leadership experience, and four years working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Related military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and / or work experience.

Two years of proven supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or military setting may be substituted for an Associate’s Degree.

Preferred:

  • Level one - Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Level two – Bachelor’s degree
  • Level three – Master’s degree/certification
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Professional work-related experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Experience or training in basic electronics
  • Experience in Lean, 6 Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and EHS initiatives
  • 3 years manufacturing experience
