Job Summary

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) serves as the State’s principal agency for economic growth. The Human Resources team serves as a primary driver in operational standard. The HR department is comprised of sevral units that provide essential services and support to the whole organization, Recruitment- Talent/Development is an integral partner supporting the organizational design through thoughtful and engaging mutilayered strategies for securing, training and the retention of talent. We are seeking an intern to mentor, develop and collaborate on special projects in Recruitment-T/D.

The Intern will work directly with the HR Recruitment and Talent/Development team members.

Interns can work 10-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters. Summer interns can work up to 35 hours per week for 8-10 weeks

Undegraduate Stdents are qualified to apply and paid dependent on their seniority $16.00 - $23.00 per hour for this internship.



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Interns support the Human Resources Recruitment-Talent & Development team’s activities, projects, and strategies at the discretion of relevant Staff, to include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the creation of reporting tools, informing the enhancement of existing ATS platforms and integrated systems;
  • Support efforts to launch and administer new policies and programtic design changes that support a continuously evolving recruitment strategy that is heavily data informed;
  • Perform research and synthesize findings on existing metrics in recruitment- talent & that contribute to the development of new initiatives for NJEDA;
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the various business units by working closely with recruiters to further the build out of an more robust method identifying qualified, diverse candidates to fit roles across the NJEDA ecosystem;
  • Contribute to periodic activity analysis for inclusion in memorandums regarding the status of the Wind Institute’s initiatives;
  • Plan, schedule, and implement logistics for meetings and events;
  • Performs research on associations, organizations and discipline specific groups to identify opportunities for partnership and/or to promote NJEDA further establishing it as as an employer of choice;
  • Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.

Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.



Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff
  • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains with little or no supervision
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare data visualization materials and other relevant documentation for the sector leaders
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages
