The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC is seeking an outstanding physician scientist at the Assistant Professor level (tenure-stream). Physicians will be responsible for the management of patients with Rheumatic disease including Sjogren's. The physician will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient cohorts of patients, will round at UPMC hospitals as assigned, and maintain at least one outpatient clinic per week and the continued care of those patients. The physician will serve as a preceptor to fellows and residents and be involved in teaching at UPMC for trainees. Physician will be 70% research, and 10% clinical, 10% service, 10% teaching.

General rank requirements: An Assistant Professor should have demonstrated teaching ability, experience in advanced study and research, or professional experience of a kind that would enable them to make an academic contribution. The Assistant Professor should possess a doctoral or appropriate professional degree (MD or DO). They should exhibit promise of originality and excellence in some field of scholarship and should have demonstrated ability in guiding and counseling students. To be appointed or promoted to an assistant professorship, a person should have the potential for promotion to Associate Professor.
