The Permit Coordinator will report to the Installation Manager and support the Mid Atlantic PMO Department.
Responsibilities
- Manage and expedite permitting application process with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail
- Manage and coordinate routing of permit packages from submission to final inspections through various departments and outside agencies, review, approval, and testing.
- Drive to and from jurisdictions to submit and obtain permit approval packages as required.
- Establish and maintain relationships with inspectors, plan reviewers, building engineers and superintendents within the construction industry.
- Prioritize workload using CRM permit queue and communication from PMs and management. Maintain permit queue and provide management with status of each permit request.
- Prepare and complete permit submittal packages, including application forms, floor plans, cut sheets, and building code references
- Create and maintain accurate guidelines for permit submission for all Mid-Atlantic jurisdictions
- Schedule required testing with jurisdictions as required by project management
- Communicate with project managers, county plan reviewers, and other stakeholders to ensure success in permit submission and completion
- Serve as primary point of contact for all matters permit and code related. Understanding of current NFPA Fire Life Safety codes, NEC Electrical codes and building codes.
- Working knowledge of requirements for submittal and approval of building, fire, and low voltage electrical permits within all jurisdictions within the Mid-Atlantic service region.
- Assist with maintaining company issued vehicle and fully adhere to Kastle driving policy
- Document permitting/inspection fees and payments using established process, upload receipts to accounting portal for tracking
- File and manage physical permit records for reference and archival purposes
- Perform other clerical tasks as needed by management
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
- College degree, comparable professional, or industry experience
- Proficient with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent Oral and Written Skills
- Excellent Organizational and Time Management skills
- Ability to multi-task, be energetic, and eager to learn new skills
- Clear speaking voice and professional demeanor
- Excellent people skills
- Demonstrated ability to relay information to Management and Executives
- Proficiency with editing software, including Bluebeam. Training will be provided
- Good typing skills and capable of operating a PC
- Ability to work independently and problem solve
- Neat and professional appearance
- Available to work overtime and non-business hours as necessary
