Department Overview

The Research Institute at Children's Minnesota (CMRI) promotes and facilitates research, education, and outreach. CMRI formally submits proposals on behalf of investigators, research programs, and departments within Children's. The institute works with investigators to prepare proposals, route them for appropriate sign-offs, and provides the final review and institutional approval prior to submission to a potential sponsor.

Position Summary ( Required to be onsite a minimum of 2days per week)

Provides a wide range of advanced statistical expertise, guidance, and support to researchers, scientists, and managers engaged in research studies. Participates in the design, development, and reporting of research studies and responds to a broad range of statistical issues arising from investigators. Supervises statistical support personnel, as appropriate to the objectives of the position and the nature of the project. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends in statistical analysis methodology. Makes significant contributions to statistical science through developing, programming, and publishing new techniques, approaches, and/or theory.

Education:
PhD in Statistics or Social/behavioral field required

Experience:

Ph.D. and at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies.
*Knowledge of current and emerging trends in advanced statistical analysis for scientific application.
*Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
*Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of statistical research.
*Ability to apply a range of advanced statistical techniques in support of scientific research studies and/or experiments.
*Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports.
*Ability to consult with scientific investigators, interpret research requirements, and determine statistical analysis strategies.
*Ability to plan, create, program and manage complex statistical computer databases.
*Knowledge of programming logic and codes.
*Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
*Ability to analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions from complex statistical information.
*Skills in the use of database management, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
*Knowledge of SAS programming and/or other statistical software.
*Knowledge of scientific reporting and manuscript preparation requirements and standards.

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.
