Title: Federal Work Study Graduate Assistant Employee Classification: GS - Graduate Student - Stipend Pay Grade: GS 00 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Department: Dean of Students Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary This is a Federal Work-Study (FWS) funded graduate assistantship. To be eligible, students must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It's important to confirm eligibility with the Office of Student Financial Aid before applying. The Graduate Assistant in the Dean of Students (DOS) Office addresses non-academic, sensitive concerns related to food and housing security for students and assists and in managing cases involving student breaches of the code of conduct. Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Master's Degree in social work, psychology, college student personnel, higher education, and student affairs, or a related field is required.
Proficiency in recognizing, problem-solving, and responding flexibly to highly sensitive situations as they arise with sound judgment and confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Basic knowledge of various university policies, state laws, and federal regulations that impact the daily work within the department.
Proficient computer skills. (Internet, E-mail, MS Office Strong oral and written communication.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give group presentations.
Ability to work independently yet collaboratively, as well as strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, are required.
