We are actively recruiting a senior level creative interior design lead to be a part of our collaborative firm in our Aviation market sector. Projects range from bespoke high-end hospitality premium lounges to high profile airport terminal interiors. Great opportunity for a highly motivated designer who wants to show their creative side with challenging projects in an innovative work environment.

This designer will work under the direction of the Design Director to lead and develop exceptional design solutions for our Aviation studio in our Dallas office. This role will collaborate with other designers in the studio to maintain the firm design and brand objectives. This position will also have opportunities for potential travel based on project locations both in the US and international.



Responsibilities

Through these responsibilities you can expect to thrive and grow professionally alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate on a variety of projects in scale and scope.

  • Generate creative design solutions in a lead design role on all phases of projects with a focus on strategy, concepts, programming and design development
  • Guide the translation of concepts and information into images into visualizations
  • Collaborate with studio to maintain and advance design excellence in all projects with the direction of the Design Director
  • Demonstrate knowledge of resources and materials and their application integrating performance-based and sustainable design strategies and products into design solutions
  • Attend consultant meetings and understand the coordination required between disciplines and as it applies to the design
  • Be familiar with major relevant codes as they impact design decisions and work with the Technical Director to ensure code compliance in design work
  • Be familiar with all the major building material technologies we use and seeks out new and innovative systems to recommend on a regular basis
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of presentations and materials to convey the design intent to clients or stakeholders; lead design presentations, with confidence
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Inspire and mentor staff to cultivate an innovative, collaborative and energetic design culture


Qualifications

Qualified designers exhibit these strengths and talents:

  • Displays strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, and able to take projects through to completion
  • Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience in commercial design; aviation and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Revit proficiency
  • Interest in sustainable design
  • Professional registration
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexible attitude
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts and information into visualizations
  • Confident presentation ability
  • Enjoy travel
