Position Summary

The Critical Care Clinical Practice Specialist (CPS) is a clinical expert in practice within a specialty who utilizes nursing arts and sciences, child development, education, psychosocial and cultural theories to facilitate the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to patients and families. The CPS designs, implements and evaluates cost-effective, population based programs of care to enhance patient and family outcomes. Serves as a leader, consultant, mentor, and change agent in advancing the practice of nursing. She/he leads multi-disciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system solutions and patient/family care issues. The scope of responsibility includes leadership, clinical practice, consultation, education, research and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required:
Minimum of 5 years clinical and pediatric experience. Completion of Master of Science in Nursing, ND, DNP, PhD or current enrollment in a Master of Science in Nursing, ND, DNP, PhD with a focus in clinical specialization. Strong computer skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills with hospital/clinic staff, providers, children, parents and visitors.

Preferred:
Experience in leadership, consultation, education, research and interdisciplinary collaboration preferred. Knowledge of quality tools, process improvement, and patient safety/error prevention highly preferred. Multilingual.

Required License/Certification:
Current Minnesota RN license.
BLS
