Department Overview The Social Work department provides emotional support and counseling to children and their families. They provide crisis intervention services, help with adjustment issues, grief and loss counseling, mental health assessments, case coordination, community advocate support, and short-term therapeutic interventions. Position Summary Seeking a clinical social worker (LICSW preferred) to support critical social work coverage for weekday, morning shift into evening hours. Clinical social workers provide trauma-informed care and work from an equity lens to provide support to patients and families facing unexpected admissions, grief/loss, end-of-life, and basic needs. Primary responsibility to trauma service and crisis mental health. Complete crisis mental health assessments and support connection to Children's inpatient mental health unit or alternative safe discharge plan developed in partnership with caregivers. Coverage was provided to both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. License/Certification/Registration required? Yes * Minnesota State LGSW, LICSW preferred Education: * Master's degree in social work required. Experience: * Experience providing crisis intervention. * Two years experience with counseling in a health care related setting or two years experience in a pediatric related setting or completion of graduate internship in either of the above settings. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Knowledge of community resources. * Ability to provide good, clear documentation of work.
