When assigned to Administrative Support Services: The candidates will need to be familiar with reading and writing legislation, policy advocacy, program planning (including evaluation and the use of key performance indicators/performance measures), and supervision of staff doing this work.

Minimum Qualifications

License Required: All candidates must possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business or Public Administration, Social or Behavioral Sciences or a closely related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of full-time experience in a professional administrative position with responsibilities in social services working with the vulnerable and at-risk population in a public or private agency or a federally funded social program, which may include casework. Two (2) years of the required experience must have been at the supervisory or management level.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Mastery of computer applications for data analysis and reporting

Selection Process

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect.
