Job Summary

Are you a dentist with a calling to care for patients with special needs?

We are currently seeking 2 part time dentists who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients visiting our 5 different dental clinics: Brainerd, Fergus Falls, Cambridge, Faribault and Willmar.

Dental services provided at the clinic will include: exams, cleanings, x-rays, and fluoride treatments, in addition to general restorative dentistry such as fillings, extractions, root canals, partials/dentures and hospital dentistry. Due to the nature of our clients and the services provided, the ability to provide IV sedation dentistry, when needed, is required.

You will provide dental care for special needs patients, primarily adults, with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders. Patients include clients from our Community Behavioral Health Hospitals, Minnesota Specialty Health System, as well as group home residents from our Community Based Services sub-contracted facilities.

You'll work in cooperation with dental staff (Hygienists and Assistants), our client's direct support team of nursing staff, medical practitioners, administration and the community to provide a coordinated dental health program for each patient.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed or license eligible to practice dentistry in the State of Minnesota; and
  • Knowledge of:
    • Special needs dentistry
    • Principles and practices of general dentistry
    • Techniques involved and the skill in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dental diseases and injuries
    • Recent developments in the field of general dentistry
    • Characteristics and usages of modern drugs
