Department Overview
The Orthopedic Clinic provides a full ranges of services relating to musculoskeletal injuries and congenital disorders. Professional consultation, education, and outreach programs and services are available.
Position Summary (Mon-Fri, no weekends, no holidays, 8hr shifts)
The APP will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other allied health staff to provide all aspects of high quality patient care for orthopedic patie nts. Specific responsibilities will include patient evaluation, pre/post- operative care, in-patient rounding, triage, surgical assistance, and clinic coverage. Flexibility to work with and adjust schedule along with co-advanced practice providers to meet department needs and varying responsibilities within Pediatric Orthopedics. The ability to work independently with the support of a physician is critical. Clinic coverage around 70% with 30% inpatient/surgical coverage.

License / Certification: Physician Assistant Certification by the NCCPA Certification Board and MN Medical Board license required. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification, APRN and RN licensure per the MN Board of Nursing. Maintain current BLS.
Education: Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program. Masters degree required. APRN: Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Master's Degree required. Graduate of an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner program and acute care certification preferred
Experience: Advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills for children and families. Critical analysis and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and interpret laboratory and radiographic data. Ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Ability to work collaboratively through consultation with other healthcare team providers.
