SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for an Education Manager to join our Healthcare Practice in either our Washington, DC or our Chicago, IL Office. The Education Manager plays an integral role in managing and growing the education portfolio and execution of the mission of the client organizations. This person will be responsible for all educational aspects of the organization, will manage the work of education staff team members and will report to the Executive Director.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as strategic oversight for two healthcare clients Education Portfolio, including live conference programming (virtual and in-person), online on-demand courses, as well as live virtual webinars and courses and a continuing education provider unit.
  • Formulate and recommendeducation strategy and business plans based on evaluation of educational needs assessment, educational strategic planning session, and client strategic plan
  • Drive the work of the Education and Conference Committees to ensure appropriate oversight and alignment to organization strategic plan
  • Manage coordination and execution of clients Education Portfolio; including topic development, speaker management,evaluations, and program-specific invoicing (speaker honoraria or expense reimbursement)
  • Oversee administrative aspects of Education Portfolio including contracting, invoicing, speaker management and payment, coordination with joint providers and host organizations, as necessary
  • Manage the work of education staff team members and coordinate with other service units who support education projects
  • Make regular updates to the Board of Directors on education strategy and progress
  • Participate in annual budgeting process and monthly financial review specific to the education portfolio
  • Apply eLearning and technology tools tosupport client education initiatives, including abstract management tools, eLearning development software, web-conferencing tools, and live capture/recording tools
  • Manage the production ofonline professional developmentopportunities via eLearning courses, podcasts, webcasts, and live capture at meetings
  • Manage the production of new education products, which could include online courses, webinars, virtual courses and in-person courses
  • Supervise curriculum development process for all eLearning and live courses.
  • Update and implement all policies and procedures related to the two clients education portfolios
  • Supervise all SMEs, vendors and contractors related to educational programming development
  • Manage the continuing education (CE) requirements and processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • 5 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nonprofit volunteer management experience
  • Experience in educational content planning for professional healthcare associations
  • Experience in driving strategy and working with Boards of Directors for professional healthcare associations
  • Knowledge of eLearning software and design implementation processes
