Minimum Qualifications
Planner I Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Planning, Geography, Social Science, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.


Planner II Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Planning, Geography, Social Science, Landscape Architecture, or a planning related field, plus two(2) years of experience in planning related work.
  • Twelve (12) semester hours of relevant graduate college course work may substitute for six months of required experience with a maximum substitution of two (2) years.
  • Experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

    The Austin Public Health, Environmental Health Services Division provides critical public health regulatory input in reviewing health & safety plans for proposed public events.

    In addition to the minimum and preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate ethical values and integrity in decision-making. They will have an aptitude for good customer service and be able to prepare a presentation for a targeted group.
