Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Designs and supervises the implementation of a research project involving technical and complex chemical and biological analyses requiring advanced knowledge of syncytial virus and its infection of lung epithelial cells in tissue cluture and in BALB/c mice, human parainfluenza virus, virus expression of protein open reading frames of parasitic and cellular origin, and SDS-PAGE.
  • Develops, organizes, and independently performs experiments.
  • Analyzes research data.
  • Contributes to the development of research papers.
  • Improves on established techniques and adapts new techniques when needed.
  • Assists Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting research programs.
  • Independently carries out research programs and manages a research laboratory.
  • Contributes intellectually to research projects
  • Writes grants.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
