Preferred QualificationsJob Description Summary The University of South Alabama’s department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking to hire a Research Technologist IV. Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position. Essential Functions Designs and supervises the implementation of a research project involving technical and complex chemical and biological analyses requiring advanced knowledge of syncytial virus and its infection of lung epithelial cells in tissue cluture and in BALB/c mice, human parainfluenza virus, virus expression of protein open reading frames of parasitic and cellular origin, and SDS-PAGE. Develops, organizes, and independently performs experiments. Analyzes research data. Contributes to the development of research papers. Improves on established techniques and adapts new techniques when needed. Assists Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting research programs. Independently carries out research programs and manages a research laboratory. Contributes intellectually to research projects Writes grants. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. Related duties as required.
