Description:

Position Summary:

· Design, implement and improve manufacturing quality standards as it relates to production of nitrile latex and production manufacturing processes

· Support planning, assembly, preparation, and maintenance of production batching systems.

· Ensure compliance with ASTM and other regulations and standards as it relates to manufacturing nitrile gloves.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Accountabilities:

· Organize and Manage Batching team personal and production resource scheduling

· Manage and oversee training of new hires and existing employees

· Participate in new product development

· Review all personnel issues, including documented training, attendance, etc.

· Optimize and oversee raw material evaluation and compounding

· Forms a working relationship with technical services to streamline and improve efficiency within the batching process.

· Oversee batches of nitrile latex and other necessary materials from detailed formulations

· Review and evaluate product requirements and specifications for correctness, completeness and testability

· Capable of creating internal test plans and protocols, which are required in the development of glove product lines

· Provide technical support including writing product testing protocols, process documents and work instructions to ensure ISO requirements are met, as applicable

· Communicate results to project leaders and team members

· Provide technical updates to leadership for all ongoing work assignments

· Mix materials using standard mixing equipment, measure properties including total solids, pH, viscosity and other characteristics as needed.

· Support latex dipping experiments with prepared compounds using both robot and hand dipping methods.

· Understand ASTM standards and other regulations relating to medical gloves.

· Assist with the pilot lab transfer of developed process and product to large scale manufacturing and provide knowledge to engineering, QC, sales and marketing, finance etc.

· Maintain company safety and security standards.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and/or a Technical Degree

· Prior rubber, plastic or water-based polymer chemistry experience preferred.

· Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to collect, summarize and report technical information.

· Continuously demonstrate a strong and efficient performance in all aspects of formulation activities; including minimizing or eliminating errors, assist with support tasks without additional prompting, and help others with their formulations when available.

· Strong attention to detail, math skills, and knowledge of the metric system.

· Strong ability for technical writing.

· Ability and willingness to change direction and focus promptly to meet shifting organizational and business demands

· Ability to manage multiple resources in a regulated environment to ensure documented information is accurate, legible, contemporaneous, original, and attributable.

· Position requires bending, typing, climbing, lifting, reaching, vision, standing, sitting, walking, and hearing

· Individuals are required to wear appropriate PPE and interpret documentation containing safety guidance.

· Ability to work individually and as part of a team in order to create and contribute to an environment that values people and encourages trust, teamwork, and open communication.

· Ability to effectively manage oneself, demonstrate integrity, be productive under pressure, and achieve developmental goals.

· Ability to communicate effectively to team members and superiors.
