Job Description

The Highlights:
Reporting to the Technology and Media Manager, the Assistant Technology Coordinator provides professional support and service to faculty, students, staff, and other users for the technology systems in School of Music classrooms, meeting rooms, specialty teaching areas, and performance spaces. They perform routine maintenance for hardware and software assets, as well as managing repairs and installation/decommission. Along with the Technology Manager, they maintain administrative documentation such as inventory records and instructions. Along with the rest of the School of Music facilities staff, they ensure our state-of-the-art facilities are supported and maintained professionally in order to support the School's mission and operations.


What You'll Do:

  • Provide first-level support and service for the technology systems and software throughout School of Music facilities, including classrooms, the Sound Recording Technology Suite, performance spaces, and personal computers. Ensure robust operation of classrooms, meeting areas, and performance spaces through regular health-checks and inventory-checks. Maintain supplies and consumables such as toner, paper, and peripherals.
  • Maintain inventory records (hardware/software/person) using existing system through routine audits. Install, update, and troubleshoot software and hardware. Organize and maintain physical hardware storage spaces. Conduct and manage repairs, installation, and decommissioning/salvage of equipment and software.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for hardware and software assets to be seen and used by students, faculty, and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Technology Manager, School of Music Facilities team, staff, and faculty by bringing ideas and concerns to department heads to optimize operations, increase ease-of-use, and reduce costs.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Degree in music or arts technology preferred
  • Comfort with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and their major applications
  • Experience with AV system signal flow and troubleshooting
  • Ability to set-up computer equipment, printers, and other peripherals Skills in finding answers to complex technical questions with a minimum of supervision.
