The Assistant Director on the Adult and Professional Education Marketing team supports the content marketing strategy for a portfolio of online non-credit professional education programs. In close collaboration with the Director, Adult and Professional Education Marketing, this individual creates and executes the content strategy across a variety of channels used in the recruitment process (webpages, landing pages, email marketing, blog articles, video and social media, etc.). The Assistant Director will be responsible for overall content strategy for the portfolio, including SEO/ SEM, competitor analysis, keyword research and SEO audits and must be comfortable working with a third party/agency as needed. He/she/they will use that information to make improvements and updates to content to continually refine and enhance recruitment marketing. The Assistant Director will work closely with the admissions and enrollment team, as well as faculty in the College of Professional Studies to identify new and/or compelling content and will strategize the best ways to create and share out that content to the intended audience. The individual in this position will ensure collaboration and a seamless integration between paid and organic content to build awareness for and drive enrollment to this portfolio of online programs. The Assistant Director reports on key metrics, such as web analytics and email campaigns to help inform strategic planning and adjustments on tactical execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Director of Adult and Professional Education Marketing for a portfolio of online non-credit professional education programs.   • Collaborates with the College of Professional Studies (CPS) admissions and enrollment team, as well as faculty in CPS to identify new and/or compelling content and will strategize the best ways to create and share out that content to the intended audience. Will ensure collaboration and a seamless integration between paid and organic content to build awareness for and drive enrollment to this portfolio of online programs.
  • Responsible for overall content strategy for the portfolio, including SEO/SEM, competitor analysis, keyword research and SEO audits and must be comfortable working with a third party/agency as needed. He/she/they will use that information to make improvements and updates to content to continually refine and enhance recruitment marketing.
  • Reports on key metrics, such as web analytics and email campaigns to help inform strategic planning and adjustments on tactical execution.
  • Performs other duties and assists with projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of professional marketing experience, including writing, research, and project management.
  • The individual must have detailed working knowledge of the marketing function, including brand management, advertising and promotion, and digital communications.
  • Must have a proven record of developing, executing and evaluating strategic and tactical marketing and communications plans, with a focus on content.
  • The individual must have proven expertise writing and editing compelling content to generate web traffic and convert leads. Keen understanding of the importance of SEO in the lead generation process.
  • Must be proficient in all associated standard computer applications and operating systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other digital marketing analytics and online project management systems.
  • Interactive/web/mobile know-how (HTML, CSS), experience using a content management system, video experience and understanding of UX and CX required.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) content management system as well as Slate CRM for communications and campaign tracking.
  • Must be a team player with strong writing, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be a flexible, upbeat, energetic self-starter who enjoys collaboration with a wide variety of constituencies.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
  • Must have a deep commitment to the well-being of the University, a commitment to the University’s Catholic/Augustinian heritage, advancement of its mission and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or advertising is preferred.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Experience within a higher education or sophisticated non-profit environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays as the demands of the job dictate.
