Job Summary

*Social Workers are eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $2500 (current state employees are not eligible)*

As a Mental Health Professional you will provide integrated mental health care and psychological services to patients of the Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC). The Mental Health Professional will support the psychology department in assisting with individual and group therapy caseloads, development of behavioral plans, evaluating patients through the Special Review Board Process.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Identify patient issues requiring consultation and make appropriate referrals to support the individual
  • Meet one-on-one with patients weekly to provide support, psychoeducation, therapy and address barriers to discharge and care planning.
  • Consult with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop most comprehensive behavioral support approaches
  • Conduct weekly group therapy sessions

Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; AND
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an independent behavioral health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); AND
  • Have at least three (3) years of post-Master's degree experience providing clinical services including individual and group therapy.

OR
  • Doctorate degree (PhD, PsyD, or DSW); AND
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Minnesota as an independent mental health professional (i.e. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Dually licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
