Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a motivated self-starting Production Laborer (Carpentry)to join our team. This person assists the Batch Plant team with producing and pouring the perfect mix of concrete. The right candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working in the construction/factory/manufacturing environment, at least 1 year of concrete experience, and also be willing and ready to learn!

Description: The purpose of this position is to build parts for production forms using wood, plastic, and hand power tools.

ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Builds all forming materials including bulkheads, side forms, and block outs.

  • Fabricates parts for the production forms according to blueprint specifications.

  • Uses a saw to cut materials to specifications.

  • Operates hand and power tools, including hammer and drills.

  • Helps with the set-up tasks on the forms as needed.

  • Repairs damaged forms to make them reusable and extend their life.

  • Manages daily tasks to ensure that all beds have the required materials.

  • Maintains inventory of materials and alerts manager of status for monthly reporting.

  • Follows instructions, guidelines, and procedures timely and accurately.

  • Continually and actively seeking to learn new skills and progress in level of responsibility.

  • Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies.

  • Performs plant cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas.

  • Adheres to safety standards.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • At least 6 months of hands-on carpentry experience.

  • Ability to read a tape measure and blueprint accurately.

  • Ability to accurately calculate dimensions and angles.

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance.

  • Ability to get to work on time, on a daily basis.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.

  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions

  • Moderate to high exposure to jobsite environment.
