The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the oldest and largest public garden in the state of Texas and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The garden is considered a living museum with over twenty theme gardens containing more than 2,500 native and exotic species of plants in 110 acres of gardens and natural settings.
The City of Fort Worth is seeking to hire a part-time position for the Park & Recreation Department at the Botanic Garden location. The Customer Service Rep I will work up to 28 hours per week.
The Customer Service Rep I position will provide a wide variety of general customer service support, while performing a variety of general clerical tasks; i.e. responding to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
At the Botanic Garden, the position will assist with receiving product into the gift shop as well as stocking and restocking product. The job will also entail maintaining merchandise displays and merchandise presentation in addition to providing Ticket Office coverage and answering incoming external and internal calls.
HS Diploma/GED and two years of responsible customer service experience within the area of assignment. The position requires the ability to multi-task in a heavy customer contact environment.
Current Texas driver's license is required. Employees at this level should be able to receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
Familiarity with cash handling as well as excellent customer service skills is preferred.
Preference will be given to those with six months public events/hospitality industry experience.
