Park and Recreation
The City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department is recruiting for several regular part-time Recreation Assistants to work for the After School Program. These positions will work up to 19 hours a week and are available at multiple community centers throughout the city. These positions will work Monday - Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. These positions will not include benefits.
Description: The After-School Program provides a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children ages 5-13 though character development, literacy programs, arts and crafts, team building and recreational activities. Recreation Assistants will assist in coordinating and conducting programs and activities at a community center while being assigned to a specific group and ensuring the well-being of the children.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
Under the direction of a supervisor, the successful candidate will supervise and participate with the children during the After-School Program; promote, coordinate and develop structured arts and crafts, games, sports and other recreational activities and events; develop and implement lesson plans, assist with snack distribution, serving and clean-up; assist with field trips and community programs; submit attendance records and other reports as requested; maintain a clean and orderly work area; maintain discipline, group control and practice safety; perform other related duties as assigned.
Valid Texas driver's license, depending on assignment.
Possession of, or ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid, and AED certification during the first six months of employment.
