The City of Fort Worth Water Department has a Water Dispatch Representative job available in our Field Operations Division.

Water Dispatch Representative job duties include:
  • Check for calls sent from customer service, validate locations and dispatch crews in a timely manning using a two way radio.
  • Create work orders as required using a work management system, enter information into spreadsheets.
  • Communicate with work crews throughout the shift exchanging information to be entered into the system.
  • Maintain daily call log for all internal and external customer calls.
  • Perform a variety of general clerical duties, including data entry, correspondence, filing and work processing.
  • Participate in training for new employees.

Minimum job requirements include:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of directly related customer service or dispatch experience.
  • Ability to work any and all assigned shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Assigned shifts are subject to change to support the operation needs.

Preferred experience includes:
  • Experience with two way radio communications.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Previous experience working wth a busy, 24/7 dispatching operations.

Physical and Environmental Conditions include, depending on assignment, touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing and balancing. Must be able to climb stairs and shelter in place during weather events.
