Pairwise believes healthy food should be affordable, convenient, and sustainable. We believe gene editing can be used to accelerate plant breeding in leveraging the natural genetic diversity in agricultural crops to address global food challenges. We are bringing the benefits of these new innovations both to producers and directly to consumers through the produce aisle of their local grocery store. Located in the Raleigh-Durham metro area Pairwise was formed in 2017 and has plans to add about 100 employees over the next year to help meet our aggressive product development goals.


  • Required: BS in Engineering, Science, or technical field. MS desired. PMP certification a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, across R&D projects and new products
  • 7+ years of Agriculture experience preferably within an R&D role
  • Ability to work with agility, taking multi-faceted approaches to transfer knowledge and know-how, and form teams for follow-through
  • Financial acumen, with an ability to evaluate budgets accounting, business case development.
  • Outstanding collaboration, communication and people skills
  • Versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure and able to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to chair meetings professionally and efficiently
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management
  • Excellent leadership abilities and business acumen
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and project management software (MS Project preferred)



  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders
  • Champion end-to-end product rollout meetings to include Marketing, R&D, Finance, Purchasing, Quality / Regulatory, etc., to ensure seamless launch
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress of ongoing projects / programs
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Track and measure project performance and deliverables using appropriate project management tools and techniques; lead the communication project performance against goals
  • Supporting effective and impactful communication related to program strategy to ensure active management of issues, risks, decisions, opportunities
  • Effectively implement and manage project changes to achieve overall project objectives and success
  • Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), template documents, and key enabling processes in R&D and beyond
  • Chair Project update and status meetings
  • Routinely monitor and communicate / report on progress of the project to all stakeholder
  • Support the management and execution of the portfolio strategy to achieve R&D and business goals
