Pairwise believes healthy food should be affordable, convenient, and sustainable. We believe gene editing can be used to accelerate plant breeding in leveraging the natural genetic diversity in agricultural crops to address global food challenges. We are bringing the benefits of these new innovations both to producers and directly to consumers through the produce aisle of their local grocery store. Located in the Raleigh-Durham metro area, Pairwise was formed in 2017 and has plans to add about 100 employees over the next year to help meet our aggressive product development goals.

Reporting to the VP of Business Operations, the Regulatory Strategy Lead will work closely with senior leadership, R&D and commercial teams to develop and manage the company's regulatory strategy.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in regulatory affairs in agriculture
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate regulatory policies to launch products
  • Experience interacting with and influencing industry groups
  • Experience with Government regulations as they pertain to agriculture desired
  • Global regulatory and commercial experience not required but helpful
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Strong background in molecular assay development
  • 10+ years experience in regulatory affairs in agriculture
  • Experience with startup companies desired

Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret applicable laws, regulations and global regulatory and legislative developments
  • Develop and manage the company's overall approach to navigating global regulatory policies and laws
  • Liase and negotiate with global regulatory authorities and industry groups to influence policy
  • Ability to translate and simplify technical content or regulations and communicate to stakeholders
  • Collaborate across the organization to help ensure corporate objectives and regulatory strategy are aligned
  • Ensure Pairwise in compliance with all applicable regulatory laws and insure appropriate stewardship guidelines are followed for early phase products in alignment with government policies.
