Special Requirements: Positions requiring a CDL or positions of a safety sensitive nature are subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal regulations.
Under general supervision, coordinate, supervise and oversee work and assigned staff in the body repair section and supervise other maintenance sections as needed.
Oversee and direct body repair work. Involves: Accept and prioritize work and related repair and maintenance tasks. Assign repair, maintenance and other work to staff. Review, evaluate and assess repairs undertaken and identify areas needing improvement. Recommend techniques, supplies, materials and/or approaches to assist staff. Interact with supervisors, vendors, contractors, other departments and employees to provide accurate information to inquiries, resolve problems and investigate and respond to complaints. Coordinate work with outside vendors or contractors.
Monitor and control body repair operations. Involves: Estimate time and materials needed for repairs. Order and maintain supplies, equipment, materials and coordinate staffing requirements to ensure adequate resources to accomplish repair tasks. Identify parts, tools and other service needs. Oversee and ensure compliance with occupational safety, hazard and related programs, policies and procedures. Maintain inventory. Review and inspect completed work for compliance to standards or other requirements before releasing unit to service. Develop and maintain a variety of maintenance and repair records. Develop and disseminate regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
Supervise assigned technicians, mechanics and other service or shop personnel. Involves: Organize and coordinate work flow. Assign, review and inspect completed work. Guide task performance. Interview applicants and recommending hiring and promotional decisions. Train and develop employees. Prepare employees' performance appraisals and recommend merit increases. Monitor attendance, approve sick/vacation leave requests and overtime time. Investigate and resolve grievances. Recall employees to work in emergencies. Recommend employee discipline, suspension and/or termination. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards firmly and impartially. Promote the observation of safe work practices at all times.
Perform related duties as required. Involves: Perform duties of immediate supervisor, other supervisors or subordinate personnel as necessary to ensure continuity of operations during absences.

Salary Range: $18.31 - $26.51 per hour
The starting salary is generally at the beginning of the salary range.
