Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Education, Psychology, and one (1) year experience in training and course development or teaching General Education Development (GED) instruction;or an Associate's degree in Teaching, Education, Psychology and three (3) years experience in training and course development or teaching General Education Development (GED) instruction.
Licenses and Certificates : Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent issued by another state.
Under general supervision, provide library patrons with basic GED instruction and ensure that continuous effort is made to support the library's mission to meet community expectations.
Identify the educational need of others and develop instructional materials.Involves:Adapt teaching methods which are appropriate to meet various educational backgrounds and learning styles.Conduct classes to teach principles, techniques, or methods in subjects associated with GED education including all subject areas. Determine suitability and feasibility of instructional methods and provide a variety of training material and resources to explore and use in learning activities.Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other available online training tools, equipment and material to supplement presentations.Evaluate patron's work to determine progress and make suggestions for improvement.Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons.Monitor and evaluate the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of delivery methods and procedures of training programs. Maintain clear communication and work closely and in coordination with management as required.
Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.Involves:Assist in preparing completion certificates and other forms or reports as required.Maintain accurate records of class attendance.Create and administer course evaluation questionnaires on the effectiveness of quality of course content and program delivery.Replenish supplies.Monitor lab equipment to ensure proper operation; replace printer paper and toner as needed.Maintain a comfortable and safe working environment for patrons.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $35,577.31 to $46,997.63 per year.
The starting salary is generally at the beginning of the salary range.
Please note: This is a part-time contract position - 12 hours per week
